As a blogger I am in constant need of wardrobe changes. I found myself spending a ridiculous amount of money every month buying new clothes online. To be honest though, this has been an ongoing issue even before I became a blogger. I tend to wear something once or twice, unless I love it, then forget about the article of clothing. I do have some signature pieces that are in constant rotation but they’re usually neutral and pretty timeless.
Past Online Clothing Subscriptions
I had tried a couple of online clothing services before. None of them were a clothing rental subscription though. They just sent me a new clothes delivery every month and I decided if I loved what they sent me and sent the rest back. I’ll be honest; the clothes were never my style. I ended up paying a monthly service charge, but I never kept anything that they sent. I had also tried an online dress rental service for special occasions from another company. I always had a slight panic attack waiting for the dress to arrive and praying it fit because I have a large chest but the rest of me is on the smaller side. This was not ideal either. The dresses I ordered rarely fit, and I’d end up in a scramble looking for something else to wear. I recently tried another rental clothing subscription for everyday wear but the style, again, was not a good fit for me.

#MyNuuly Designer Clothing Rentals
If you’ve been following me for awhile you know that I love Free People clothing. It has a boho/gypsy feel to it with a sexy edge. I could dress myself head to toe in their clothes every day if I had to. So when I looked at the online clothing rental options that Nuuly has and saw that Free people and some of my other favorite brands like For Love and Lemons, Love Shack Fancy and Flynn Sky were included in their monthly rentals, I was sold.

How Do You Rent Clothes Online from Nuuly?
You sign up for Nuuly and create an account on Nuuly’s site. Then, for $88 a month, you can pick any six items from their website. You can also add two additional “bonus pieces” for an additional $18 each month. Nuuly is perfect for a special trip or vacation when you don’t want to spend a ton of money on new outfits “for the gram”. Shipping is free both ways, and they include a return shipping label in their adorable packaging that gets delivered right to your door.
Purchasing Rental Clothes from Nuuly to Keep
If you really love a piece and you can’t live without it you are able to purchase that item at well below retail. I am going on my fourth month of Nuuly and I’ve purchased three items. These were staple, basic pieces that I may have not even tried on in a store or ordered online because of the retail price alone. Thy were high quality and design, and at 30-50 percent off retail, they were definitely a good investment. They make it simple to purchase clothes online, too. You just log in, go to your “My Nuuly” and hit “purchase”. They will charge the purchase to the card that you have on file for your monthly subscription.
Sending Clothes Back When the Monthly Clothing Rental Ends
Once your month is up, you just put the unwashed clothes back in the bag, zip it up and put the return label in the see-through panel on the top of the bag. It literally takes seconds. Then, drop it at your nearest UPS store or have it picked up. Once Nuuly receives your bag, “My Nuuly” opens up and you can add your six items. I’ve gotten my new items within 48 hours (they have two-day shipping on business days of the week) after I’ve picked out my new pieces. Then the process starts all over again.
Affordable and Eco-Friendly Clothing
One last advantage to this service is that it cuts back on your carbon footprint. According to Business Insider, fashion production makes up for 10 percent of humanity’s carbon emissions. They go on to state that emissions from fashion production is more carbon than from international flights and maritime shipping combined. Fast and cheap fashion are taking a toll on the environment. By opting to use an online clothing rental service, you can cut back on the damage being done to our planet.
Is the Nuuly Clothing Subscription for You? My Nuuly Review.
At first I was a little nervous because I didn’t like the idea of wearing clothing that someone else had already worn. Nuuly makes sure every piece is clean and free of any tears or stains. I have been thrilled with every piece I have received, and some have even come brand new. If you’re like me and love the idea of wearing new (to you) and very on-trend clothes but don’t like the idea of breaking the bank, Nuuly is for you, with the added bonus of doing a little something for our planet.
